Kurt & Nicole

Kurt & Nicole, the organized couple that they are, planned on shooting all of their posed portraits prior to the ceremony at the Oakland LDS Mormon Temple. I headed out of Sacramento around 1pm, hit the temple around 3pm to check it out ( which was alot of fun for me because I had not been there before!) and then the bridal party arrived at 4pm.

Little more rushed than I had hoped but all was well and we "got 'er done.
After the temple we headed over to Metopolitan Golf Course for their Tiffany Blue ceremony and reception!

Sneak Peak

Just a little sneak peak at Kurt & Nicole's wedding today in Oakland! Whewhoo!

POST YOUR COMMENTS! And I will be working on the rest of these lovely images for the next few weeks, and I will post some more tomorrow! :)

Experimenting with Texture

I've been working on Tone & Sonia's CD's and while doing so, have been experimenting in textures. I am by no means "satisfied" with these images, but it's a start. You only figure out the newest techniques through admiration and experimentation, so here is the result of the last few hours of cocking my head to the side and going," What the heck?"

I know, I know, they're not great, but go ahead and cock your head to the side and think about it. Hmmmmmmm.

Today was a day to work on client packets, and work on flashcards for school. Since I've posted several times today, guess where my focus was fixated today? WORK.

Carrie & Justin E-Session

I've got my external hardrive plugged in at the moment, working on my November bride's discs (TA-DA!) and so I thought I'd share these images from Carrie & Justin's engagement session on top of Mount Tamalpais near Mill Valley from back in January. One of my all-time favorite sessions. I love the spot where we went!

Coincidentally, this would also be the place where I was scolded by a Park Ranger for shooting without a permit.. who'da'thunk I was a deliquent? ;)

Just a few more of Rhianna & Alex!

Just a couple more from Rhianna & Alex's 4/19 wedding in Menlo Park! :)

Profound Realization

One of the guests at Rhianna & Alex's wedding today is a casual wedding photographer- she does 1 or 2 weddings a year. She came over to chat me up about my work, which is pretty common. What wasn't so common was a single sentence analysis she did of my overal life interests that really made sense.

As most of you should know, I am in law school. Hopefully I'll be going into family law some day down the road. Law school and photography don't really go together. People frequently ask how I got into photography, and although it has always been something I enjoyed, it was a result of being a nanny for a set of identical twin girls as an undergraduate that got me the job I have now. I photographed those little girls daily the last few months before I graduated as a gift to their parents- and photography found ME as something more than a hobby. The fact that I was also a nanny, and a once upon a time a preschool teacher also stuns many, and I have made half-ass attempts at explaining it.

This woman did that today in just one moment. She told me, "Well that makes perfect sense. What all of those things have in common is People, and Relationships."

Single largest epiphany I've had in YEARS.

One of the guests at R & A's wedding also insisted on taking my picture- with my own camera! Now I am pretty possessive of my camera and typically don't even let anyone TOUCH it, let alone HOLD it! But this person was the stand-in Dad to the bride and we were standing on very soft grass ( I squatted in it, I know!) So here I am, for those of you who don't know what I look like, with the lovely bride Rhianna, this afternoon. :)

Rhianna & Alex

Rhianna & Alex...aw, so romantic. I loved this whole day. The locations were gogeous, it was a day wedding which is always plesant, the couple was adorable in private together... I loved it all!.... Ok, well, I didn't really love getting completely lost three separate times but, wasted gas aside...

Rhianna & Alex are VERY cute together, I love them! They had their ceremony at the Allied Art Guild in Menlo Park- a neighborhood I've decided I'd love to live in- with their reception down the highway in Santa Clara at the Freedom Hall, a very well run little operation.
On with the pictures!

Getting ready with the bride to be...

Shoes. I LOVE shoes.

Bridesmaid bouquet!
Rhi and the flower girl! She tried very hard! :)

Rhianna about to walk down the aisle, escorted by her brother.
And here is the happy couple!

Here are the ring pictures! What do you like best? Post a comment! I'm waiting to hear from you!
