Laura & Jacob: Salt Lake City LDS Temple

Laura & Jacob will be sealed for time and all eternity on October 10th, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. (LDS= Mormon for those of you not hip to the lingo. ;) ) I have always, ALWAYS wanted to do a session, or a wedding at the SLC Temple simply because I find it to be a beautiful piece of architecture and being the non-member odd ball that I am, hold an incredible amount of awe and respect for both the Mormon Religion, but also for the sacred ceremonies which take place within it's beautifully and lovingly constructed walls.
So, in order to cross this dream off my photography to-do list, I spread the word and got the email from Laura leading to her Bridal session at the Temple, with a brief appearance by Jacob at the end for some Groomals!
This is just a teaser, as you all know I am currently (my MySpace followers anyway) pounding away at Wally & Jill's wedding, and the York's family session. More images to come on this session!
We've got 4 days left until my subscription on my website runs out. I've been tallyng the votes and most of you are saying it's ok with you to let my website go bye-bye. I'm VERY nervous, but I haven't re-newed it! If anyone has some encouragement for me, go ahead and share it! And if anyone wants to make a $200 donation to pay for the website to renew, you go right on ahead, LOL. (Kidding!) I put up a new slide on the front of the site, to begin warning clients/potential clients/viewers that the website will be moving over here; since I won't be able to forward the traffic from there to here, but I know it is short notice.. I am VERY nervous! Did I say that already?! Even though I will continue to operate out of this blog, shutting down the website is still the closing of a chapter in my life, and although I know I want my life to head in a different direction, it's still a little sad for me to say goodbye to it. Scary too, because I have to depend on myself and have faith in the job market that I will be employed in a traditional 9-5 sometime soon...
Don't forget to sign up to be a follower over here on the right side of your screen! ------> I am loving seeing the new faces! :)
Isn't Laura BEAUTIFUL? These are just random shots I pulled, except for the first, which I flagged as being the awesomest picture ever and HAD to post. :)

Reminders!

All of my top=secret lurker readers... PLEASE don't hesitate to crawl out of the dark closet and become a "follower" on the right side of your screen. It can be our secret that you like me! Also, please feel free to leave comments! They are the best part of my day everyone. Leave me a comment about anything! Like how your vegtable garden went this summer, or how you think my new layout and design ROCKS!

Speaking of, check out the new digs people! I'm not quite sure I am done tweaking the top, but this is REALLY what I have wanted to do for a very long time- ever since I started this blog, I believe. It has taken me a long time to settle on colors (these are my favorite, and they are all the colors in my house! Duh! Why didn't I realize that's what I should use right from the begining?) but I adore these. I finally figured out how to do a logo using a whole lot of copying and pasting and erasing, and I finally found out how to change the background color of the blog! YAY!

Lastly, please scroll down to the post after Natalie & Matt's wedding... very important poll for you guys. I began taking steps to transfer my information from my soon to expire website to this blog, but I still need some reassurance from you guys that we can all live without my website! If anyone hasn't voted, please scroll down and do so.

UPDATED TO SAY:

Just to clarify, regardless of whether my website goes down or not, I will be "retiring" from this as a full-time "hobby." :) You can't hold me hostage, with my hands glued to the camera! But like I've always said, I promise, I will always keep my old clients, and take new clients on, on a limited basis, at a "just for fun" level. :)

Antioch Brownstone Gardens Wedding Matt & Natalie are MARRIED!

Oh, how I love this wedding! The colors are so bright and beautiful and Matt and Natalie were an awesome couple to work with. They were willing to do anything, and yet always stayed calm, relaxed and centered with each other. PERFECTION!

The wedding was in Antioch at the couple's home church, with a reception following at this awesome little oasis on the other side of town called The Brownstone Gardens. I loved it. If I didn't live in Sacramento, I would consider this venue for my reception! You could do an awesome ceremony there too. Beautiful sculptures and wonderful landscapeing. Twinkle lights galore once the sun went down!
One of my very favorite parts of this wedding though was Natalie's cousin, who took sang. The man ROCKS! He was an awesome singer and I was so entertained by just watching him. Just a guitar and I think a foot tambourine, or something else extremely simple- so amazing. With a beautiful wife and baby to boot! His version of Crash into Me (Dave Matthews) was awesome. By far the best wedding singer I've ever encountered, and if the guy ever puts out a CD, I'd be the first to buy it. Hands down! He had everyone on their feet all night. :)

Natalie talked about dropping some extra $$ for these chair covers, but SOOO worth it, don't you think? I loved them. The chairs underneath were really simple, so it really dressed up the event overall with that gorgeous fabric and rich colors...

Let's check out the CAKE! Aren't the cake toppers awesome? Natalie got them of Etsy.com for a deal and just changed the colors to suit her wedding palate!

Ok, I think its time for some mushy smoochy-pooh couple's pictures of these two (LITERAL!) love-birds!
