Yes, indeed. If you were not aware of it before (how could you NOT be aware if you read this blog?) I am a bonafide-certified "Crazy Cat Lady." The proof is, as they say, in the pudding.
Have some figgy pudding!

Ha, ha, ha, ha! Toulouse is my baby boy, that's me and him together on the LEFT. He LOVES going to the Zoo (PetSmart) and walking around on a leash. He loves the bird exhibit the most, but the puppy training center comes in a close second. He has his own little fan base with the staff (he's the only cat anyone has ever brought into the store on a leash, as far as any employee can remember) because he's so easily remembered, and the last time we were there, a lady asked to take his picture with her iphone. REALLY! Celebrity cat! (Crazy Cat Lady, what did I tell you?)
Anyway, we went to go see Santa, because Tootie (nn) really wants a retractable dog leash for Christmas. A 5 footer is not cutting it when he is running around displays and up shelves. Tootie really liked Santa at first, giving her lovies and rubbing on her boots. Then he got a whiff of somebody's "accident" from earlier that hadn't been scrubbed well enough apparently and then he magically turned into a puma.
The puma began hissing, screaming, growling uncontrollably, but still determined to give the now-wild Puma-Tootie his moment of glory with his Christmas idol, I held the little sucker down, slapped a Christmas-themed jester's collar on him and smiled wide. CHEESE! :D
Amelia doesn't like to go bye-bye. This is because she is a cat, as opposed to a cat-hyphen-dog like her brother. But, I didn't want to deny her the opportunity to talk to Santa either, especially since she needs a new cat carrier. See, Toulouse was climbing around on top of my stackable washer, knocked the carrier off the top and bashed it into my head, which left a HUGE welt, AND completely broke the door off her carrier. Hmmph. So, Amelia had some things to discuss with Santa about that.
I brought her in, and took her right over to the fish display, as she is a very big fan of her baby brother Marlin the Betta and spends lots of time at home "babysitting" (staring intently) at him. She was a little nervous, being outside and all ( in her carrier, covered with a jacket, but with the door open so she could see) but she clearly enjoyed the fish, and as soon as the Aquarium Wrangler wandered over and petted her with those stinky nasty fish gut hands, Amelia was in love and ready to play! Perfume of the gods, I'm sure.
Much like a toddler (well, she IS three) Amelia clung to me like a baby when I tried to hand her off, but once she got in Santa's lap, she just sat there, tippy-toed, looking around! She and Santa had their chat, we got our picture, and off we went!
Merry Christmas everyone! Office is officially closed this week. (Although I'm still editing. SHH! Don't tell...)
Emily :)
