Black Friday Portrait Giveaway!

I am itching to do some shooting in the beautiful Utah landscape and I'll willing to bribe you to satisfy my artistic urges! (Did that sound odd?)

What: FIRST ANNUAL BLACK FRIDAY PORTRAIT GIVEAWAY!
A free portrait session of your choice: bridals, groomals or romantics!

Who: Open to those who have their dresses ready to roll and are in the Salt Lake or Provo areas in Utah.

When: Sometime between December 1st-6th

Where: I LOVE to shoot at the Temple, but we can go wherever your little heart desires, my dears!

HOW: Shoot me off any email telling me a little bit about yourselves, your story, or how you met- something that helps me pick you out of the seas of oh, the 2 emails I'll probably get (if that), a picture of you and your sweetheart being cute, and why this would be so great for you to do- if you have a reason. If you have an idea, a theme or a concept you've been dreaming up looking at wedding blogs- EVER BETTER! Just give me something to work with when I'm reading your responses girls!

Okay, I will be sitting here, under my computer, like Charlie Brown waiting under the mailbox for his Valentines. I hope I get some lovin' soon.

You can email me at: heizer_ea@yahoo.com

Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just get your entry in ASAP!

PS: DON'T FORGET!

It's not too late to sign up for a portrait session in Utah! I am also extending my Oregon sessions through this weekend, so if anyone couldn't make it work before Thanksgiving, I'll be available on the 27th and 28th too! $75 is a STEAL for what you'll get!

Abby and her Daddy

The last few months have been exceedingly difficult for me. The hardest, the most life-changing, the scariest, the most terrifying... it's been a whirlwind of mostly unpleasant realities. A lot of the lifelong dreams I've had have been changed, or eliminated, or postponed- indefinitely perhaps.

One of the things on that list was babies.

Then I met Abby.

And then I wondered.... did I bring a big enough purse to fit her in?

Back to Abby and her Daddy! :)

Out of the Office (All kinds of silliness!) PROCESSING LIST UPDATED 11/22

I'm officially out of the office as of... oh, 3am. I'll be in Oregon for the next couple of weeks (and then Utah for awhile after that) running the disc burning workshop!

Everyone with completed orders who got married or had a shoot from about May on who has not made requests on their events will be receiving a notice requesting address and legal name confirmations/update requests from me soon. DO NOTE that if you don't respond to the requests I send you, you will miss this cycle and be passed on to the next cycle. So make sure you don't ignore the requests (or reminders, or 2nd reminders, or 3rd reminders from me :) ) and make sure you follow the instructions in the letter! I need both you and your spouse's legal names (first and last) and your address. (Don't just email me back and say, "Oh it's still the same." I need you to actually send it to me so I have an actual confirmation in writing from you!) I need this for your print release. If you only give me one name, I can't do your order! The two of you need to be able to both be able to use the disc, per your contracts, and in this day and age, there is no telling what your last names are going to be post-wedding. And for family sessions, same deal- Mom and Dad don't necessarily have the same name, so I always confirm before I do the releases! No confirm=no ship!

I also have some surprises this time around for you guys and I hope you like it! You know I HATE, LOATHE, DETEST and DESPISE disc workshops, but I'm almost a little excited this time because of the new set up! Hee hee! :)

And here is the processing order for those of you who are are close to bat:

Tiff & Jeff: You're totally done. You have been uploading for days and days. If you sneak a peek at your site, or if you have been, I'm sure you'll die. They're almost all up there. :) COMPLETE!

Hil & Joe: 70% through now... your upload will be faster. I'm hoping by the end of this week. That's my goal... COMPLETE!

Log & Ty: 60% done and yours will be a breeze. My biggest problem will be curbing the impulse to edit EVERYTHING. COMPLETE!

Baby Abby: Another impulse control one... lol 65% completed ... ON DECK!

David & Jessica: 45%, also a quickie YOU'RE NEXT!

Holly & Billy: 41%

Angela & Warren: 48%

Scott & Sarah: 21%

Wilbur Family: Just startin' still!

Toree & Andrew: Just started!

Anybody who isn't done and posted by November 30th is going to have just a basic set up of their site done and their completed edits posted so you guys can order anything you need for the holidays. That's a promise.

Margarita! I got your note about the edit request! I'm on it! I'll get it done before your disc goes out! :)

Fair Oaks Wedding Photography (Hilary & Joey)

Hilary gets ready to see Joey for the first time on their wedding day.

Say "Hi" to sweet baby Marley steaming up the glass on the french door. (Try not to get eaten. LOL)

I really love this shot of her dress and hands...

Things didn't really turn out as-planned for Hil. She totally rocked her wedding dress, but that dress was bought the day BEFORE her wedding! Poor Hilary had originally planned on a custom designed dress but things didn't quite turn out as planned... and that little fact didn't come to light until the last minute. Which really, seriously sucked. I think she did an AMAZING job at finding a dress that really flattered her body and You looked like a knock out Hilary! But I know it definitely wasn't what was planned. That said, as I try to remind all of my couples whose plans go awry... weddings are so special, and amazing occasions. And when things go wrong it can break your heart. But the most important thing of all is that you and your partner get to spend your lives together... don't lose site that THAT is the greatest privilege and gift of all!

.... Ahem... and there is nothing wrong with spending the next year working on finding/designing a dress to your suiting and doing a special anniversary photo shoot on your 1 year, or renewing your vows with just you and your spouse in the dress you dreamed of, right? ;)

Shingle Springs Wedding Photography in the Rain (Angela & Warren's Preview)

Angela and Warren have known each other at least 10 years. But they haven't been together that long. Early this year, they took a look at each other and realized what they had been missing all those years. And SNAP! Just like that two best friends became sweethearts.

A couple of months ago, just as suddenly, these two turned to each other, and Warren said something like, "I really don't want to sleep on the couch over the holidays at your family's house." Thus, they became betrothed. ;) (It was probably much more suave and romantic than that lol)

There wasn't an organ, or a church, or a huge venue. No rings were exchanged. Instead, a good friend's beautiful property was lovingly lent and their parents, children and the pastor and his wife were their only guests. With that, and a homemade pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting, homemade by the mother of the bride (of which I totally licked the plate) these two were wed for all time.

By the way, it poured rain all through the wedding and the pictures! Blessed be the bride whose day is rained upon!
