I love Toree and Andrew. They are one of my favorite clients from this year. I know their wedding day didn't turn out quite the way they expected, but what I always tell my couples is that when it comes down to it in the end, all that matters is that you have the privilege of spending your life with your partner. Andrew and Toree got that. They have been together for a long time and are an amazing fit for each other. They smack each other around (not really, lol), they've gone through good times and bad, and they'll probably go through worse and better. (Hopefully just the better though.) I truly believe they are a perfect fit for each other and bawled my little eyes out during Andrew's speech at the reception. There were some important people who became absent from the wedding at the last minute, and as a group, Andrew asked that everyone say the Serenity Prayer.
Ashley, (coincidentally from Salon Paisley who did Toree's hair, AND my other client Sarah's hair back in August) led everyone, and I know that I wasn't the only one who got teary thinking about the strong new family sitting before us in that small ballroom in Foresthill that night.
- God, grant me the serenity
- To accept the things I cannot change;
- Courage to change the things I can;
- And the wisdom to know the difference.
January 3rd marked the five month anniversary of when my own life took a dramatic turn, and I find myself no better off, or barely any better off than I was then. It's then I have to remember what Andrew said that night, and the Serenity Prayer has certainly given me some peace in my own frequent low moments as well. Serenity, Courage and Wisdom should have been on all of our Christmas lists...
Andrew and Toree deserve nothing but happiness and joy and if by gosh darn we have to ding dong ditch kittens on their porch everyday until eternity to do that, well.... hee hee, I'd be obliged. :)
On a creepy side note, two of my ex-boyfriends got married at Toree and Andrew's venue, during the same year, six months apart to the day. How freaky is that??? LOL
Toree planned the most gorgeous details. Girls, you should ALL aspire to this! Beautiful, simple, elegant, modern! (Squeal!) On with the show!
And they lived Happily Ever After...
