Sacramento McKinley Park Picnic Engagement

Part 2 for H & S's engagement session. You can see their formal session, on the top floor of The Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento, HERE. For the second half, we headed over to McKinley Park.

My father and mother met at McKinley Park in the 1960's. My dad was a lifeguard working his way through college (along with a few other jobs), fresh out of the army, and my mom was a cashier at the pool there the summer after her first year at Concordia University in Minnesota. We drove by it a few years ago and my dad pointed out the specific bench he had first spotted her on and described what she had been wearing that day; the very first time he ever laid eyes on her. My parents are good friends, although, they've both had other personal developments in recent years.

When we got to McKinley, Holly laid out a BEAUTIFUL picnic basket laden down with wine, brie, a baguette, fresh grapes, blueberries and raspberries (in that cute anthropologie container if you were wondering), and Shane and Holly nestled down between the Camellia shrubs for their early evening sweetheart's picnic...
