First up, Park Prive in Costa Mesa. Green grass surrounded by a cathedral of tall pine trees. Beautiful outdoor space, and very chic modern almost asian inspired indoor space. Food was great, service impeccable. There is a tiny little vineyard across the street where they let you take pictures and the parking lot has bougainvillea flowers growing and blooming everywhere- beautiful! They treated the vendors (me) like garbage, second class citizens though. But everything else was great. In the middle of a totally random business district, you'd never expect it to be there.
This venue was previously owned by the Patina Group and every wedding website lists the Patina Group as the owner and links you to the following website, BUT Park Prive is not listed on their website. I don't know what's going on with that because it's a popular venue. They might have changed ownership. Here is the link to what is listed at the correct contact information, and here is their physical address:

Dana Point Youth Facility on Ensenada in Dana Point
I shot a wedding here on 7/7/7 and it was great. I had gone to elementry school with the groom at Nohl Canyon, and the couple had been together since 7th grade at Cerro Villa, and it was packed with Villa Park High people. They got ready at the fancy Marriott up the road over looking the ocean at a discounted rate (by a friend who worked there). It has beach access, so you could do the ceremony on the beach if you wanted to, or you could do it in the courtyard like they did. there is indoor and outdoor space, with ocean views, harbor views, all of it was great. It is also really cheap too, they just charge by the hour- $194/hour IF you serve alcohol (Haha, "if" LOL), and $160 if you dont. It's just the facility here ( think they had the tables and chairs tho), so you'd have to bring in caterers, but the couple I had did something very neat and super cheap. They love food, but they HATED "wedding food" they called it "wedding chicken". Alot of wedding venues serve the same crappy wedding food at every event, it all tastes the same and it all tastes like crap. They wanted to avoid that. So rather than hire caterers, they had their favorite restaurants cater their favorite dishes and do it buffet style. It was SUPER popular and everybody went wild for it. I went back through the pictures I took (I took pictures of the food and signs) and they had food brought in from Pasta Bravo, Pick up Stix and El Tortito!

Here's their really crappy website, the first two paragraphs are for this venue.

The Hacienda in Santa Ana
They have an outdoor courtyard, very Spanish style, they have on-site catering, they are a restaurant. I went there for Sunday brunch and it was great. If you guys have a free Sunday, run up there for breakfast one day. It's a champagne brunch- it's expensive, $20 a head or something, but it's all you can eat, lots of alcohol (all you can drink!) and they have food stations set up all over the courtyard and you can just get up and have them custom make your plate right there in front of you. It was great. That will give you a good feel for the place. It definitely has a theme though, but I think you could work with it. There does appear to be multiple locations, but I could only tell you about the Hacidenda because that's the only one I have been to.
It says their pricing starts at $2500 and that's including food.

The Fullerton Arborteum
My best friend all the way back from kindergarten got married here last summer and I went to camp here every summer as a kid. Tons of gardens, all outdoors, millions of flowers, it's a big outdoor garden, and that's pretty much all it is!

The Garden Room of Garden Grove
Okay, this is a venue I don't actually like, LOL but the couples who I know who got married there LOVED it, so I figured I'd mention it anyway. To my understanding, it's also dirt cheap, so I figured I'd just throw it out there.
They have an indoor chapel, an indoor ballroom, but they also have that gazebo outside, and some little fountains and stuff, and a spiral staircase. I'd really describe it as a "wedding factory" type venue, but again, the couple of brides I had who got married there LOVED it, for whatever reason. So?

This is in LA. This probably THE most beautiful garden setting you would ever be able to find in this area. The cost ranges on where you chose to get married. The park is HUGE and there are at least half a dozen choices. Ranges from $3,000-6000. It can accomodate HUGE numbers too, up to 400 if you needed to. Or more maybe.

Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Ladera Ranch
I did a bunch of family portrait sessions here and it's a pretty place. Traditional gold course, but set on a lake and surrounded by canyons. Lots of weddings done here, popular.
