Hope Valley, Lake Tahoe Engagement Pictures, (Janessa & Ben)

Janessa and Ben are a super silly, super lighthearted couple and they just wanted to play and frolic through their whole session! They brought their two awesome dogs, Garth (Brooks) and Whitney (Houston) along for the ride and I am so glad they did! Whitney is no longer with us and while I bet it is hard, I also know it is so nice to be able to have nice images of someone you love! We shot in fall in Hope Valley, one of the most photographed places in Northern California! The aspens were in full color and we ran and played amongst the trees! Taking fun and silly portraits can be a real challenge sometimes, because the natural faces and poses we make when we are being goofy aren't always the most flattering. (I have an AWESOME eye roll and mild facial twitch you should all check out when I am cracking jokes sometime, but it looks truly horrific on camera!) For this session, I think we had a good balance of both those romantic portraits that I really strive for, and some silly pictures that reflected the dynamic in Janessa and Ben's relationship!
